Kanishk was one of the founding members of Girl Effect's team in India, in 2017. Kanishk is a culture, media and brand specialist who brought deep local context and insights to the vision and design of Chhaa Jaa, Girl Effect’s youth brand in India.
Chhaa Jaa leverages the flexibility of digital content, and the increasing role it plays in the lives of adolescent girls living in one of the fastest growing digital economies in the world, to inspire, entertain and empower girls with the right skills and confidence to navigate adolescence. Kanishk and his team worked with specialist Indian content creators to help launch Chhaa Jaa in June 2019.
Prior to Girl Effect, Kanishk held a variety of positions in advertising, qualitative research and brand strategy. A student of rights movements and social purpose, Kanishk is passionate about using his experience in the private sector, and his own life, to contribute to issues that matter in India. Kanishk has an MBA in Communications Management from MICA, Ahmedabad, India and studied Economics and History at Mumbai University.
