Hadeezah Haruna-Usie

Country Director, Nigeria, and Global Gender Director

Hadeezah joined Girl Effect in 2013 as a seasoned gender and international development expert working in roles from Gender Lead to Deputy Director.

Hadeezah has spent over a decade designing and managing girl-centric and technology-based programmes and now heads up Girl Effect's Nigeria country office as Country Director. In 2017, Hadeezah led the Nigerian team that launched Girl Effect’s innovative technology enabled programme, Girls Connect, pioneering new ways to connect girls to information and support in rural Nigeria.

Before joining Girl Effect, Hadeezah worked with a wide range of international and in country non-profit organisations including Save the Children, Oxfam and Society for Family Health. Hadeezah is a Fellow of University of Massachusetts, Boston and sits on the board of Champions for Change; a public health movement led by the Public Health Institute in Oakland, CA.
