Victories over Violence: Ensuring Safety for Women and Girls is a practitioners' manual, comprised of 16 sections. It looks at violence three key areas: private, public and global.
Case studies in each section are drawn from actual events, featuring stories set in societies as diverse as Haiti, Malaysia, Nepal, and the United States. These case studies explore the linkages between violence while underscoring the point that gender-based human rights violations are universal.
Within each section, case studies serve to spark conversation about the causes and consequences of violence against girls and women. They also cover the choices that victims make to re-build their lives and the measures to take in addressing these violations.
Questions for discussion follow on from the case studies and all but the last two sections feature learning exercises.
